Wing Mirror
description
At North Glass, we provide replacement wing mirror glass for a wide range of cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles. We only supplyand fit flat float mirror glass, the image will be a true reflection, not magnified or minimised, like a genuine bent glass mirror does, depending on the vehicle's original specification. Please note, we cannot replicate curved mirrors. The customer would have to source a genuine part.
capture the lead
Before creating a wing mirror job, "create a new customer" or confirm the details of an "existing customer":✓ Customer name✓ Property address✓ Email address
✓ Phone number
Purpose: The information gathered during the initial phone call is to determine the following:1. To check if the glass is flat or curved.2. Whether it is for the driver's or passenger's side.3. To confirm the vehicle registration.4. Whether the glass needs to be cut from stock sheets or manufactured.
Using the "Wing Mirror" job template, always work through the following checklist before cutting/ordering.
1. Confirm which wing mirror needs replacing.Drivers Side / Passengers Side
Why we ask: This helps us to record which side we have glazed for future reference.
2. Obtain the vehicle registration (Rego) number.
Why we ask: The registration allows us to identify the vehicles make and model.
3. Confirm any mirror features (if known). Heated / Blindspot Indicator / Auto Dimming Note: If the customer is unable to provide measurements during the call, we can send them an email requesting the measurements they can reply at their convenience. Why we ask: Accurate measurements are required to provide a quote and ensure the glass is cut as specified.
Before ending the call, confirm:✓ Customer name✓ Phone number✓ Email address✓ Glass type identified✓ Approximate size obtained✓ Photos requested (if needed) Inform the customer of the process after gathering the above information: Thank the customer for providing this information. Let them know we will review the details and send them a quote shortly. Advise that once our quote has been accepted, payment is required in full before we cut/order the glass. Tips: A. Based on the information the customer provided, check the safety glazing decision tree using the below link (This will determine which glass type the customer requires): https://www.wganz.org.nz/safety-glazing-standards. B. If we are supplying glass for a panel that is framed (such as a door or a window) glass does not require any edgework processing - edges will be RA (rough arrised). C. If the glass required will have exposed edges we generally FP all edges (flat polish). D. Toughened safety glass cannot be altered once it has been manufactured. E. We carry 2mm (picture frame), 4mm (window) and 5mm (door) clear float in stock. This can be cut here in our workshop but needs to be scheduled with the glazier. F. If the panel requires a hole cut out, ask if the customer can leave the template with us and our glazier can measure this (kind of like a site measure).
