Using the "Auto Chip Repair" job template, always work through the following checklist before booking in with a glazier.
1. Obtain the vehicle registration (Rego) number.

3. Ask if the repair is being completed through insurance. If yes, obtain the insurance claim number. Why we ask: We require the claim number to process the repair directly with the insurer where applicable. 4. Confirm the date the damage occurred. Why we ask: This information may be required for insurance purposes and helps us understand how long the damage has been present. 5. Ask how many chips require repair. Why we ask: The number of chips helps us determine whether the damage is suitable for repair and allows us to allocate the appropriate appointment time. 6. Confirm the location of the chip on the windscreen. CVA (Driver's Side) / Passenger's Side
Why we ask: The location of the damage helps determine whether the chip falls within the critical vision areas and whether the windscreen is suitable for repair or may require replacement instead. 7. Confirm the size of the chip. Why we ask: The size of the chip helps determine whether it is suitable for repair. Larger chips may not be repairable and could require a full windscreen replacement.
Before ending the call, confirm:✓ Customer name✓ Phone number✓ Email address✓ Vehicle registration, make and model ✓ Schedule the booking (Always book the customer in) Once you have gathered all of the required information, explain the next steps to the customer: - Confirm their booking date and time, let them know you will email them the booking confirmation using the " Auto Windscreen booking confirmation - Chip Repair" email template. - If they have insurance, tell them they will need to lodge a claim. Let them know you will email them requesting the policy/claim number using the "Auto Windscreen Insurance Details Req - Steering" email template. Tell them they can reply to this email with the details. Change the job status to "Insurance Details". - If they don't have insurance, advise them of the price per chip. Change the job status to "Scheduled". PLEASE NOTE (discretion for customer):Windscreen chip repairs are not a cosmetic process; you may still see where the chip is located once the repair is complete. It is important to know the appearance after a repair is not an indicator of whether the repair was successful. The sole purpose of a windscreen repair is to restore the strength of your windscreen as a structural component of your vehicle, and to prevent further damage.

Once the quote has been prepared, review each line item to ensure all calculations are accurate. Approve the quote and email this to the insurance provider using the "Quote Auto" email template. You must put the claim number or the policy number in the subject line. Change the tradify job status to "Scheduled". If the customer has no insurance, get their verbal acceptance and accept the quote manually. Change the tradify job status to "Scheduled".

invoice

On completion of the repair, create an invoice for the full amount from the quote. If additional chips have been repaired, add this to the invoice and update the description field with the amount of chips actually repaired. Please check you have coded the line item on the invoice to the right account code (41500 - Chip Repairs (41500) otherwise this defaults to account code: 42000 - Materials (42000). Email this invoice to the insurance provider using the "Invoice" template. You must put the claim number or the policy number in the subject line. Customers without insurance will pay using the eftpos machine or cash. Add the payment on the invoice and hit the save and continue button. Change the job status to "Post invoice Email".
